Meanwhile, garage rock’s classic tradition, carried its global expansion like dynamite exploding from the American indie label In The Red ; and punks, next to other guitar distortion specialists, claimed their original strength reinstalled, after years of sponsored debilitation into the mainstream.

Their first official offering arrives next February and expectations are skyrocketing.
Editado originalmente en cassette, no se puede ser mas lo-fi, ni capturar mejor el espiritu del punk. Las distorsiones de Nathan Williams han conseguido una avalancha de comparaciones con otros exploradores de la reverberación guitarrera como Times New Viking y No Age. Su primer album propiamente oficial se publicará en Febrero y la expectación anda por los cielos.

Halfway between the technique of Eddie Van Halen and other monsters of rock and the noise experimentation of Sonic Youth’s disciples, this virtuoso guitar chick continued to amaze everyone with her second album; not a major departure from her debut, but one that served to reaffirm her accomplishments.

5-PARTS & LABOR-Receivers
Shades of Hüsker Dü; Wire & Fugazi kept on flying over the four-piece from Brooklyn, but somehow in “Receivers”, they streamlined their character while adding new members and achieved what few other experienced acts have this year, their best work to date.

4-BLACK MOUNTAIN-In The Future
Canadians Black Mountain went further down the path of the seventies, getting even more progressive and mystical. “Tyrants”, the pivotal piece in their sophomore effort measured their ambitions, with Amber Webber doing the best Grace Slick impersonation ever. The rest of it didn’t quite reach the highlights of their debut.
Los Canadienses Black Mountain bajaron más al fondo de los setenta, resultando mas progresivos y místicos que nunca. “Tyrants” la pieza central en su segundo esfuerzo medía sus ambiciones, con Amber Webber realizando la mejor imitación que hemos escuchado nunca de Grace Slick. El resto no llegaba a los momentos álgidos de su debut.
3-TITUS ANDRONICUS-The Airing Of Grievance
Punk was revalidated again as a movement by a series of bands that didn’t look like they were part of a high street chain promotion anymore. Among them, these Shakespearian in name, coming from New Jersey, after an initial push courtesy of Pitchfork, began agitating the media and the audiences.
El punk volvia a ser revalidado como movimiento por una serie de bandas que ya no parecian sacadas de una promocion de seccion joven en grandes almacenes. De entre ellas, estos Shakespeareanos en nombre, procedentes de New Jersey tras un empujón inicial cortesía de Pitchfork comenzaban a agitar medios y audiencias.

Among the most hyped up of the new talents; they made popular the concept of tropical punk and their buzz grew and grew, finishing the year with Diplo himself knocking at their door to persuade them to join one of his eclectic tours.
