Nick Cave New #1 In Our Loop With ‘Euthanasia’
Posted by Roberto in IN THE LOOP on November 2, 2020
In the week when, for one day only -Thursday the 5th- his new documentary concert, ‘Idiot Prayer,’ premieres in cinemas around the world, Nick Cave is the new number one in our chart with his brand new track ‘Euthanasia.’ Part of that same concert, the lead singer of The Bad Seeds played solo piano renditions of selected songs from all their back catalogue, broadcast online from an eerily empty Alexandra Palace in London. A powerful statement for music and art in the COVID era. Female duo from Chicago Ohmme and Julia Holter complete the Top 3.
Iranian/Dutch electronica female artist Sevdaliza is this edition’s highest new entry, followed by new songs by Bull; Rico Nasty feat. Gucci Mane & Don Toliver; Vermú; Bad Bunny feat. Jhay Cortez; Hot Chip feat. Jarvis Cocker; Empress Of feat. Amber Mark; MIKE; Guided By Voices; Cakes da Killa feat. Proper Villains; Mdou Moctar; War On Women; Freddie Gibbs feat. Big Sean & Hit Boy; Jeffrey Lewis…, and another cover by Bill Callahan and Bonnie ‘Prince’ Billy, helped by The High LLamas’ Sean O´Hagan on their cheeky rendition of Billie Eilish’ “Wish You Were Gay”.
