Liz Fraser is Back!!

The sorely missed vocalist of influential band from the 80’s Cocteau Twins has given her first interview in years to British newspaper the Guardian. On it Liz Fraser talks about the reasons for parting with the Cocteaus, her retirement from music –briefly stopped when she featured on Massive Attack’s single “Teardrop”- and her relationship with the late Jeff Buckley –with whom she recorded a song currently circulating on the internet much to the singer’s dismay. Fraser claims it is unfinished and people should not listen to it, but it is so good that we feel obliged to break the singer’s will (see video above).

But the best piece of news is that Liz Fraser is back to the record studio, putting the finishing touches to her long awaited solo album. With the sounds of her former band being revisited by a whole new generation of artists, the time is ripe for her comeback. A first single “Moses” is released on Rough Trade on November the 30th and a short sample of it can be previewed here.
