#Bestof2019 : Top 100 Tracks (25-1)

FKA Twigs’ exquisite vocal and electronica experimentation kickstarts the final and most important part of our Top 100 tracks of 2019 (Positions 25-1). For the first time ever 19 out of our Top 25 songs are performed by female musicians or female-fronted bands, including the whole of the Top 10. This only reaffirms 2019 as a year with strong feminine (and feminist) flavour.

#Bestof2019 : Top 50 Albums

We begin our annual end of the year music review with our favourite albums. In the coming days we will be also checking the Top 100 singles, making a brief analysis of what’s been going on during the last twelve month and we´’ll finish with the announcement of our 2018 Rober Awards nominees. Big Thief Back On Top With ‘Forgotten Eyes’

For the third time this year folk-rockers Big Thief get to the #1 of our loop. The Brooklyn combo who have released not one but two of the best albums of the year is our song of the week with ‘Forgotten Eyes’. On a singer/songwriter-heavy edition Mount Eerie with Julie Doiron and Julien Baker round up the Top 3.

And right when his former album ‘Blonde’ has been named by some influential critics the best of the decade, Frank Ocean‘s return with a teaser from his new opus is the week’s highest new entry. Big Thief Steals This Week’s Loop

One of the bands this year will be remembered for, Brooklyn alt. folksters Big Thief, makes it to the top of our loop with ‘Not’, the first taster off their second album of 2019, ‘Two Hands.’ Lana Del Rey, whose new album ‘Norman Fucking Rockwell’ has been saluted by the critics as the best of her career and LA post-punks Automatic round up the Top 3.

Rico Nasty Makes Time Fly In The Loop

After dealing with ‘Anger Management,’ female rapper Rico Nasty goes more club and pop friendly with the infectious ‘Time Flies,’ which is our #1 in the new edition of the loop. London art pop band Vanishing Twin and St. Louis’ songwriter Angel Olsen, with her latest, 80’s inspired power ballad, complete the Top 3.

Kim Petras & SOPHIE Count The Dayz On Top Of Our Loop

Transgender pop stars Kim Petras and SOPHIE join forces on their poptastic, slick new song ‘1,2,3 Dayz Up’, which has just climbed to the #`1 of our weekly loop. Veteran Canadian indie collective Broken Social Scene follow closely with ‘Boyfriends’, a standout track from their latest EP, the first volume of ‘Let’s Try The After.’ Last week’s chart topper Baiuca; Kiwi songwriter Aldous Harding and another Canadian artist, Munya, complete the Top 5 in this edition’s springtime-like, poptastic selection.
