Promising to leak a new track per week until his fifth album hits the shops later in the autumn; ‘Monster’ with its top-league collaborations – surprisingly including the acoustic talents of Bon Iver – is the third offering taken from KanYe’s new opus.

CHAMPAIN (Download)
Off his ‘Stray Bullets’ mixtape previewing the return of Cee-Lo’s as a solo act, after parking his Gnarls Barkley outfit for the moment being, ‘Champain’ finds the soulful rapper in top shape.
4- FREDDIE GIBBS

Hailed as the best new player in the hip-hop world, Gibbs raises his profile before his proper full lenght debut with the ‘Str8 Killa EP’. The song gives a self-affirming two fingers to an industry that hasn’t paid much attention to his talent so far.

The archives of the late J. Dilla keep on being a treasure trove. His record company was recently given away THE ‘Donut Shop EP’ worth of unreleased beats from the archives of the groundbreaking producer. This beat taken from Men Without Hat’s one hit wonder ‘Safety Dance’ is one of its highlights.
6- JANELLE MONAE
COLD WAR (WONDAMIX) (Download)
Unanimously acclaimed for the diversity and originality of her debut ‘The Archandroid’, Monáe’s establishing herself as one of the artist of the year. ‘Cold War’ is her latest single, given a trendy makeover in this remix.
7- CHROMEO
DON’T TURN THE LIGHTS OFF (CHRISTIAN MARTIN REMIX) (Download)
The 80’s synths obsessed Canadian duo is back with more spot-on revisionism. Their third effort ‘Business Casual’ is dropping in a few weeks and this mid-tempo number is its first single.

ABRAZAME (UPROOT ANDY REMIX) (Download)
The Spanish version of huge Caribbean crossover hit by Gyptian ‘Hold Yuh’, performed by Panamese up and coming rap combo The Rakas with the vocal help of Faviola and remixed by the always excellent Uproot Andy is even catchier than the original.

Diplo protégée Maluca Mala is a female singer from New York with a Dominican background that nicely combines her tropical roots with trendy electronica. Hopes are high for her to join the ranks of the Santigolds and the M.I.A.s. The electro stormer ‘Hector’ is one of the highlights in her latest mixtape.

PLAY DI TING (THE HEATWAVE REFIX) (Download)
One of the stronger contenders for our song of the summer is this remix of the unstoppable dancehall track by Natalie Storm. Why this hasn’t become an international smash is pretty hard to understand.
