Big Thief; Lana Del Rey; Fontaines D.C and Billie Elish Lead #RoberAwards2019 Nominations

They are followed closely, with four apiece, by Lana Del Rey, who is having a career peak thanks to her sixth and most accomplished album to date, “Norman Fucking´Rockwell;” Irish debuting post-punk band Fontaines D:C, going against the trend by bringing back to life the rather fading power of rock guitars, and the alt. pop revelation of the year, Billie Eilish.

The legendary Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds; indie chanteuse Weyes Blood and the lead singer of Alabama Shakes, Britanny Howard, each with three nominations each, join Big Thief, Lana Del Rey and Fontaines D:C. in the category of album of the year.

R&B revelation Lizzo and indie rock songwriters Angel Olsen and Sharon Van Etten will dispute Big Thief, Del Rey and Eilish the song of the year prize.

Among other multiple nominees are PuertoRican trap rapper Bad Bunny, electronica singer FKA Twigs; Spanish pop revelation ROSALÍA; veteran singer songwriter Bill Callahan; Reggaeton’s biggest star J Balvin; Radiohead’s frontman Thom Yorke; Miami rapper Denzel Curry; the hip-Hop collaboration between Freddie Gibbs and Madlib; freak-folk songwriter Jessica Pratt and the latest project of the sadly deceased this year ex-Silver Jews musician David Berman, Purple Mountains.

The polls will be open for everyone to vote for their favourites until January the 31st.
