Former member of Deerhoof, multi-instrumentist Chris Cohen delivers the favourite song in our loop this week with ‘Green Eyes’ from his nicely moody third solo album. In the top 3: ROSALÍA remains and Anna Meredith climbs up.

ROSALÍA Double Number One In Our Loop

On a very Hispanic-flavored edition of our loop, ROSALÍA gets to #1 with the two songs of her excellent double sided new single ‘Fucking Money Man,’ in which the Spanish star sings to the two sides of our contradictory relationship with money. Two very different female artists complete this week’s top 3: Lady Lykez and Jenny Hval.

The highest new entry comes also from Spain, and makes for an inflamed political statement against the rise of fascism, “Supergroup” Fuerza Nueva combines the talents of Los Planetas and El Niño De Elche. Enigmatic London Trio SAULT Is The New #1

Very little is known about the new #1 in our loop, a London trio called SAULT. Their album “5,” a mix of soul vibes and lo-fi production, currently making waves on the blogosphere. Some of its members have written songs for Michael Kiwanuka and Little Simz and they are released through Kid Sister’s label Forever Living. ‘Let It Go’ is one of their first singles and is our favourite song this week. Thom Yorke and black midi complete the top 3.

Tyler, The Creator, whom with ‘IGOR’ has delivered one of the most innovative rap albums of recent times, also gives us one of the catchies choruses of the summer, in collaboration with Solange, ‘I THINK’ is this week’s number one in our loop. Where the rock of Declan Welsh and The Decadent West and the electronica of Floating Points are also flying high.

Bon Iver Leads The Loop With ‘Hey, Ma’

In the week that he’s playing at Madrid’s Mad Cool festival, Justin Vernon’s band Bon Iver is our favourite song of the week with ‘Hey, Ma’ one of the two brand new tracks anticipating their long awaited new album.
