More Academy favourites returning: It’s official, after curating All Tomorrow’s Parties’ “Nighmare Before Christmas” festival last year; and after a ten years hiatus since their “Roseland NY live” album, Portishead are to release their new studio album, simply called “Third”, on April 14th.

Some of the new tracks were preview during the trio’s set at the aforementioned festival. Takes of new songs like “Wycca”; “Machine Gun”; etc. can be viewed with different levels of quality in the usual video sites. Beth Gibbons, Geoff Barrow and Adrian Utley have also announced they will be headlining one of the days at Coachella Festival alongside Kraftwerk and Death Cab For Cutie; and will also be one of the main attractions at this year’s Primavera Sound festival in Barcelona and begin a world tour at the end of March.
