(Live)
Tim Rutili’s post-Red Red Meat, post-rock project went expanding its sonic palette through the years, incorporating a notable influence of americana; next to more avant-garde elements. Califone’s career peak came in 2006 with “Roots & Crowns” and had for central piece this cover of Genesis P.Orridge’s cult band Psychic TV. The sweet and simple melody of the original is discretely re-arranged into a song Simon & Garfunkel would not reject off their repertoire. Subtle and beautiful.

Bit of patience, please. I´ll resume the Best of the decade review once I finish the year´s review. Sorry for the interruption.
