After their classic first three EP’s, The Beta Band turned the millennium heavily tipped for glory. Steve Mason’s band released three albums, packed with an original mix of influences – which placed them into the folktronica bandwagon- and excellent songs, but the Scottish combo never quite fulfilled all their promise and finally split up. The singer’s side project, King Biscuit Time, at first alternated with his duties at the Beta, offered Mason’s finest moments, once again through his preferred format with the “No Regal” EP.
