The Loop Go Wild With Beach House

After their well received fourth album, ‘Bloom’, has even conquered the most mainstream of charts, the loop is headed again by another standout from Beach House.

The last edition before going on a two week holiday sees high new entries by MS MR; Killer Mike; Actress and the first taste of Afghan Whigs’ reunion, resorting once again to one of their specialities, a cover of the soul classic ‘See & Don’t See’. Chromatics Are Making A Killing

Portland’s hippest electronic combo, Chromatics, is finally on top of the loop with ‘Back From The Grave’, one of the many singles released from their highly rated latest opus ‘Kill For Love’.

The Tallest Man On Earth; Meek Mill and Icona Pop are the highest new entries . Tallest Man again plus D’Eon and Doseone were the generous spirits giving away free tracks this week.

AlunaGeorge Strike Gold With Debut EP

Debuting London boy/girl duo AlunaGeorge reach the top of our loop with ‘Just A Touch’, the second standout track from their leftfield R&B infused EP ‘I Know You Like It’.

Other duo, US favourites Beach House heads the new entry contingent followed by Four Tet; Animal Collective and another taste from Neneh Cherry ‘s covers project with The Thing. Transgendered rapper Mykki Bianco gives away the only free download this week.

The Loop Hangs Loose With Alabama Shakes

The much acclaimed R&B rock combo Alabama Shakes becomes the latest act to top the loop with ‘Hang Loose’, a standout from their debut album ‘Boys & Girls’.

British electronica wizard Actress; Chromatics; Kanye West with mates Pusha T, 2 Chainz & Big Sean or one of The Flaming Lips collaborations with heady fwends, the one featuring Nick Cave, are among the highest entries of this edition; whereas Twin Shadow and Blues Control bring on the freebies.

Playlists Galore: Best Tracks Of The Year – Ongoing

To celebrate that Spotify is allowing everybody to embed their music, here’s our Rober Awards 2012 official playlists to date. First one is the best tracks of 2012, which will continue to be regularly updated until the end of the year. Then we will trim it to show only our favourites. So far Burial; Beach House; Django Django & Jai Paul have all made an big impression in our loop and their songs kickstart a playlist including over 250 tracks to date. Enjoy!

‘Meantime EP’ Gets Kwes Heading The Loop

South East Londoner Kwes brings his personal blend of electronic experimentation and soulful vocals to the highest position of the loop thanks to “Igoyh” , the brilliant standout track from his recent ‘Meantime’ EP.

Female vocalists aplenty among this edition’s new entries, from up and coming stars Purity Ring and Aluna George to more established alternative and indie greats such as St. Vincent, offering a Recod Day exclusive, and Fiona Apple, who is back into the spotlight after a long hiatus. Dope Boy is the only act offering a free download this time.
