Mouse On Mars Got Us Polaroyced

A welcomed return to form by classic electronica act Mouse On Mars and the fiery guitars of Brooklyn quartet The Men are heading this week’s loop.

Among the new stuff, Beach House‘s new single; an excellent new joint effort by Four Tet & Burial and another surprising return, Sinead O’Connor covering John Grant. Freebies came from Evy Jane; Main Attraktionz and the Damon Albarn produced new track by Bobby Womack .

The Loop Gets Evangelized

Spanish supergroup Los Evangelistas, comprised by members of Los Planetas and Lagartija Nick, take ‘Donde Pones El Alma’, the first single from their tribute to the late flamenco legend Enrique Morente, to the highest rank of our chart.

The return of French songwriter Dominique A is this week’s highest entry. New tracks by Grimes and Spiritualized also debut and, among the downloads, offerings by Solar Systems; Colleen Green and free full EPs by Odd Future star Hodgy Beats and Low’s Alan Sparhawk side project Revolution Gospel Choir.

Burial Excels With ‘Kindred’ EP

Dubstep pioneer Burial has done it again. The mysterious London artist has just released ‘Kindred’, a 3-track EP that easily counts among the best of his output. ‘Loner’ is our current favourite track.

On an electronica-heavy week, Mouse On Mars‘s surprising return to form, plus the new tracks by Lone and Diplo are the most notable entries. Free Downloads were provided by British pop chanteuse Charli XCX; US Metal combo Torche and the surprising collaboration between Gorillaz, André 300 and James Murphy.
